The LVCVA board approved $6.25 million to Boring to operate the mile-long convention center system from Feb. 1 through June 30, 2022. At no cost, authorized access to Boring to dig tunnels connecting the Convention Center with Encore beneath Convention Center land.
Tesla plans to start with human drivers overseeing the operation of Tesla vehicles using Full Self Driving in the Boring tunnels. By the end of 2021, they expect to remove the humans for fully autonomous driving in the tunnels. This will be a very simple use case.
The expanded tunnel systems will provide a more interesting fully autonomous system.
