Iran is taking back another batch of the 20% enriched uranium stockpiles that were sent to Russia as part of the 2015 nuclear deal. 11 tons of low enriched uranium was originally sent from Iran to Russia. Iran has already gotten some of that material back from Russia and Iran is asking for more back.
Iran would sell its enriched uranium material and buy natural uranium or yellowcake in return. Russia had sent back 149 tons of raw yellowcake uranium.

Why are those patties so close together? That was a big issue with plutonium at Y-12 in 08/2011 – they called it a “near disaster”. Of course, we have no idea what is in those patties there – could be Pb.

Those look like aluminum or nickel ingots.
Since enriched Uranium is for sale on the open market I would assume Iran would want its supply back so it can sell it. Without an international agreement Iran can buy reactors and enriched Uranium on the open market.

20 % enriched should be ok with no moderator, shouldn’t it ? The latest ‘Mission Impossible ‘ Tom Cruise movie had three bomb cores nestled comfortably together in a case, so it must be all right. Setting the bombs off at the headwaters of the Indus and Ganges was apparently going to poison everyone in Asia, though.
Can not understand what Iran is waiting ? Why have not they started enrichment already?

Pic of the hockey pucks just looks like bad form. Your hand is a reflector – don’t touch. Plus uranium metal is pyrophoric (maybe not if alloyed); that doesn’t look like the inside of an inert glove-box.
