The reason that Bloomberg gave to for delaying the Tesla Robotaxi event from August 8, 2024 does not make sense. There would be no reason to delay until October to show more robotaxi prototype cars.
Tesla can have another event where they show cars. Also, the robotaxi vehicles need to be mass produced. Prototypes are irrelevant.
IF there was a need for another event then Tesla can have another event to show new vehicles.
Tesla will not show any lower price $25,000 car until they are ready to build in volume. Showing a $25k car before it is ready would just Osborne the Model 3 and Model Y.
It is easy to do another event. An event for the car. Events for licensing deal signings. There is no rule about only one event. $TSLA @elonmusk

Far better to postpone and truly “WOW” the audience, then to present something that is a yawn fest.
FSD/AutoTaxi has to be **MUCH** better than an average human driver.
Also he should take a hint from Apple and have a “One More Thing” moment near the end of the presentation.
I would suggest Musk is more interested on postponing the truth. Hey, I know new technology takes longer` to “show up to the people” then to his shareholders. What really piss’s me off about Musk, is his arrogance . He claims so much. Let me put it another way. Musk can claim to have made trillions, yes trillions, and you what? I’m so tired to do what? (Dangerous notice people, when you get tired about what’s going on)
Robert, I guess true innovation is difficult and sorry if you are tired of the process. I guess you could see Elon trying to relay his vision and how his teams will deliver it is arrogance but that could be thought of as confidence. Maybe the difference is how often the results are actually delivered. Gwynne Shotwell has learned to respond to Elon on his ideas, recommendations, suggestions is to go research it because of how often Elon is right. Guessing you have company with Gwynne who is tired of Elon being right about as much as he is. Frankly, I find those that are tired about the amazing innovations and fantastic products albeit late from estimations that come form Elon’s companies. I look forward to being a better future and the trick is to learn to enjoy the process of innovation as if it wears you down or just makes you tired, don’t look, don’t buy, don’t invest because there are others places to invest ones time that would inspire you.
They will show prototypes and it will take 2 to 3 years to build in volume, which is consistent with my prediction of Level 4 in 2027.
The Hardware dedicated robotaxis (Using HW5/AI5) are going to be more efficient, cheaper to build, more profitable – but Tesla will turn every vehicle it has built for the last several years into a Robotaxi with just a software over the air download, as promised. They focused on HW3 FSD versions first and there is no indication there will be issues with that.
This is more corporate dictatorial BS then anything I’ve seen in the USA in the last 140 years. “Ask no questions”? I don’t think so. I ask A LOT of questions. The rest of us should as well…
While I agree with you, I think the reason Elon has yet to chime in, is likely because he’s deeply considering postponing the event.
He has said that FSD is progressing slower then he thought. People are getting 12.4.3 and while better still doesn’t have things like Summon, banish, or even the ability to reverse.
As usual, cutting edge tech, does not follow arbitrary timetables.
