Jensen and Elon Both See Future with Billions of Humanoid Robots

Jensen Huang, Nvidia CEO, says humanoid robots will become as common as cars and there will be significant breakthroughs in robotics in the next 2-3 years. This would be about 2 billion humanoid robots. Elon Musk said he thinks there will be ten times as many humanoid robots in the future. This would be 20 billion humanoid robots.

  1. Robocop here we come! Behind barbwire a paradise.
Xinjiang every country a camp of dissidents.
    Stay on the res, meatbag.

  2. Billions of units with sensors, manipulators and communication abilities all talking back to a single (more probable: multiple) AI based experience analysis units (brain). I do hope they all just ‘get along’

  3. I agree with them both. I follow this scene closely, and tell my friends & co-workers…they all think I’m crazy.
I tell them “crazy” things like:
UBI will be passed by congress in 2030.
Within 1 decade 90% of all jobs will be gone.
Earth will have more humanoid robots then people, by 2040.

At face value, these all sound nuts. But robots are improving rapidly, and within 2-3 years they will be smarter then all humans (combined). They will do everything for us, and life will be very much a thing of leisure. It won’t be obvious for most until 2027, that is when robots will surpass 1 million, THEN, it will begin to set in.

It won’t just be the robots we know today, other companies like Samsung will build them, they won’t be as capable as Teslabot, but they will be cheaper, and help a lot of people out, who can’t afford a 25k Teslabot. Hell, 1X has already shown how capable their robot is, and are expecting it’s price to be around 10k.

    The robots are coming.

  4. If every household had 1.5 humanoid robots and factories / construction / retail / etc had the equivalent of 1 humanoid as perhaps 2 specialty (non-humanoid robots), and the environment (landscaping, trash pick-up) had 2 non-humanoid robots per human then, indeed, there would be about 20 billion humanoid robots and even more specialty bots.

  5. Let’s remember that China has stated in its plans for the coming years that it will become the world leader in the production of humanoid robots. I predict an interesting rivalry, similar to that of the electric car market.
